Rudy
at 16 months
Rudy-Zoot is a very
comical, sweet natured fella.
He's more calmer
and mellower (yea!!) than your normal tan pointed dog..
His markings remind
me of a court jester and along with his goofy
fun attitude, it
fits him perfectly.
Rudy loves to run
and play and he likes to "talk".
He's very loving
and gets along with everyone.
He loves TV and
is quickly becoming
a couch potato as
long as he can watch whatever is on the "tube".
He's very nicely
put together and moves very well when he isn't
doing his Tigger
rendition of boing boing boing and
leaping jumping
over & racing with his toys and the dogs all over the yard.
He's quite comical
and he and Bubbie and Obie are fast becoming buddies..
That's scarey..LOL

Rudy-Kazootie is
one of our newest
endeavors.
I became interested
in the merle issue a few years back, and started investigating
this subject (with
horror, along with curiousity, like many did) which has become highly volatile
within the cocker fancy.
I had never seen
a merle cocker in person, only in photos.
I spoke to many
breeders, both back from the 80's to current breeders about
the merle issue
and how it came about.
Recently, I decided
after much discussion and deliberation, in order to make up my own
mind about
what all the excitement
was over merle cockers, I was offered 2 of them of my own.
What I saw that day
when the breeder of these kids came over with several to visit with, was
these HAD to be the most unusual, flashy and awesome colored cockers I
had ever seen.
Their unusual markings
and blue eyes really fit the bill with the "merry cocker' description.
They all reminded
me of little clowns.:-)
Not only were they
pretty but they were typey, had extremely nice conformation,
something that would
do quite well in the show ring, other than color.
I decided on Rudy
and a little brown & tan girl, Pistol.
Rudy is essentially
a black & tan, but does have enough white on him to qualify as a parti.
But he produces like a black & tan.
I have no plans at
this time to breed merle cockers for myself, but if I ever were to do so
some day,
these would be very
nice representatives to have for a foundation in merles.

Rudy has recently been used at stud and has produced
a very nice litter of pups for his original breeder.
He has produced 3 very pretty merle pups as well
as 2 black & tans and 1 black. They are currently available at Sandcastle
cockers.
Rudy is available for stud to select females
by private treaty.
